Laci Brooke Proctor to represent Gaston/Swansea/Ninety Six in prestigious statewide event
November 21, 2008 (Aiken, SC): Laci Proctor of Gaston/Swansea, formerly of Ninety Six, will soon compete for the title of MISS SOUTH CAROLINA TEEN USA®. Selected from among hundreds of applicants, Laci will join the state’s brightest young women in the quest for the crown. The pageant will take place Friday and Saturday, November 21 & 22 in North Charleston. The North Charleston Performing Arts Center will host both the preliminary and final rounds of competition.
Laci is a Junior at Swansea High School. This will be her first attempt at the title of MISS SOUTH CAROLINA TEEN USA. An avid cheerleader and photographer, Laci looks forward to representing her hometown and competing in the pageant. She is the daughter of Jamie (Goldman) & Kevin Hopper of Gaston, and Brooks Proctor of Greenwood, the granddaughter of Jimmie Goldman & the late Joe Goldman, the late Sandra Enos & the great granddaughter of the late CH (Poss) & Pauline Smith, all of Ninety Six. Laci has been sponsored by New Breed Salon, Pressure Relief Services, A Touch in Time Photo, Band of Brothers MC (Ninety Six SC), her parents, family and friends.
All MISS SOUTH CAROLINA TEEN USA contestants will compete in three equal categories: interview, evening gown and swimsuit. The theme of the 22ND annual pageant is “Runways of the World, Seasons of Fashion.” Brittany Pjetraj, MISS SOUTH CAROLINA TEEN USA 2008 and first runner up to MISS TEEN USA 2008, will crown the new teen titleholder. Other past winners will grace the stage and audience.
The contest will be judged by: notable celebrities and business people from throughout the United States.
Should Laci be selected as the new MISS SOUTH CAROLINA TEEN USA, she will represent the State in the production of the MISS TEEN USA® Pageant. Among her prizes will be: cash, an educational scholarship, a luxurious fur-trimmed coat, an exclusive 14k gold crown ring, a glamorous wardrobe for national competition and the opportunity to interview with top commercial talent agencies.
